Marco Rheis - Uma Homenagem

No dia
13 de Abril de 1993
eu acordei
às 7:20
33 anos depois.
_____

Viajante

O peito aparta a dor desta minha gente
neste lugar onde o orgulho é ferido.

Não sinto peso de estar distante
onde tange caminho de luta sobra rastro e dor
ceifando chão onde morre desejo vem o destino
indicando naquela que leva e trás
o passo a passo errante que empurra:
vai caminhar!

Conto de Ano Novo para São Paulo

Corticos,
crianças e rostos
dos restos rotos dos Campos Elíseos.

Famintos (com vergonha) e
pratos fartos (com desconfiança)
mostram os olhos.

São Bentos, Joãos e Ifigênias.
Duques e Princesas.

Ainda planalto cercado de serras,
envolto em fumaça.

Quarentine - Eavan Boland

Eavan Boland, who redefined Irish poetry from a woman's point of ...

Quarantine
by Eavan Boland

In the worst hour of the worst season
of the worst year of a whole people
a man set out from the workhouse with his wife.
He was walking - they were both walking - north.

She was sick with famine fever and could not keep up.
He lifted her and put her on his back.
He walked like that west and west and north.
Until at nightfall under freezing stars they arrived.

In the morning they were both found dead.
Of cold. Of hunger. Of the toxins of a whole history.
But her feet were held against his breastbone.
The last heat of his flesh was his last gift to her.

Let no love poem ever come to this threshold.
There is no place here for the inexact
praise of the easy graces and sensuality of the body.
There is only time for this merciless inventory:

Their death together in the winter of 1847.
Also what they suffered. How they lived.
And what there is between a man and woman.
And in which darkness it can best be proved.

Quarenta e nove anos nessa estrada
Entre desertos, montanhas e vales,
Por terras estranhas fiz meu caminho:
Dia e noite caminhando este caminho.

Profundamente penso neste caminho,
Cujo destino parece estar muito longe,
Embora a estrada pareça curta e ampla:
Dia e noite caminhando este caminho

A esta altura do caminho, Veysel se pergunta
Se deveria rir ou chorar... O que seria o certo?
Com um destino ainda por alcançar:
Dia e noite caminhando este caminho.

Uzun ince bir yoldayım

Uzun ince bir yoldayım,
Gidiyorum gündüz gece,
Bilmiyorum ne haldeyim,
Gidiyorum gündüz gece.

Dünyaya geldiğim anda,
Yürüdüm aynı zamanda,
İki kapılı bir handa
Gidiyorum gündüz gece.

Uykuda dahi yürüyom,
Kalmaya sebep arıyom,
Gidenleri hep görüyom,
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

Kırk dokuz yıl bu yollarda
Ovada dağda çöllerde,
Düşmüşüm gurbet ellerde
Gidiyorum gündüz gece.

Düşünülürse derince,
Uzak görünür görünce,
Yol bir dakka miktarınca
Gidiyorum gündüz gece.

Şaşar Veysel iş bu hale
Gah ağlaya gahi güle,
Yetişmek için menzile
Gidiyorum gündüz gece

Ella Fitzgerald: Every Time We Say Goodbye (1965)

Every time we say goodbye

Every time we say goodbye
I die a little
Every time we say goodbye
I wonder why a little

Why the Gods above me
Who must be in the know
Think so little of me
They allow you to go

When you're near
There's such an air of spring about it
I can hear a lark somewhere
Begin to sing about it
There's no love song finer
But how strange the change from major to minor
Every time we say goodbye

When you're near
There's such an air of spring about it
I can hear a lark somewhere
Begin to sing about it
There's no love song finer
But how strange the change from major to minor
Every time we say goodbye

Toda vez que dizemos adeus

Toda vez que dizemos adeus
Eu morro um pouquinho
Toda vez que dizemos adeus
Eu questiono um pouquinho

Por que Deus, lá no céu
Me deu um destino assim
Deixar-me jogado ao léu
Quando estás longe de mim

Mas quando você está por perto
A primavera sente sua presença
Até os pássaros fazem concerto
Pois também sentem sua presença
Mas essa bela canção de amor
Também pode cantar a dor
Toda vez que dizemos adeus

Mas quando você está por perto
A primavera sente sua presença
Até os pássaros fazem concerto
Pois também sentem sua presença
Mas essa bela canção de amor
Também pode cantar a dor
Toda vez que dizemos adeus

'As You Like It', de Shakespeare (trecho)

O trecho aqui traduzido pertence à Cena Sete do Ato II.

neste teatro amplo e universal

Primeiro o bebê, regurgitando e chorando no colo da mãe;
ainda sonado, rastejando-se como uma lesma para a aula;
depois o amante, empenhado num vai-e-vem alucinante,
babando como um animal sobre o corpo da amante;
rápida e qualquer, mesmo que na boca de um canhão;
e argumentos modernos.

[“As You Like It”, Ato II, Cena VII, in “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare”, edited by W. J. Craig, M.A., Magpie Books, London, 1992, 1142 pp.]

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Breves São os Anos

-

Poucos a vida dura.
Que são doze ou sessenta na floresta
Dos números, e quanto pouco falta
Para o fim do futuro!
Dois terços já, tão rápido, do curso
Que me é imposto correr descendo, passo.
Apresso, e breve acabo.
Dado em declive deixo, e invito apresso
O moribundo passo.

Segura a barra
A bruxa está solta
Não dê moleza
Ela pode estar na mesa

O dia inteiro
Até mesmo no banheiro
Ou de pijama
Dormindo na sua cama

Pero que las hay, las hay

Yo no creo en brujas
Pero que las hay, las hay...

Get 'Em Out By Friday

(Banks/Collins/Gabriel/Hackett/Rutherford)

[John Pebble of Styx Enterprises]

"Get 'em out by Friday!
You don't get paid till the last one's well on his way.
Get 'em out by Friday!
It's important that we keep to schedule, there must be no delay."

[Mark Hall of Styx Enterprises (otherwise known as "The Winkler")]

"I represent a firm of gentlemen who recently purchased this
house and all the others in the road,
In the interest of humanity we've found a better place for you
to go, go-woh, go-woh"

[Mrs. Barrow (a tenant)]

"Oh no, this I can't believe,
Oh Mary, they're asking us to leave."

[Mr. Pebble]

"Get 'em out by Friday!
I've told you before, 's good many gone if we let them stay.
And if it isn't easy,
You can squeeze a little grease and our troubles will soon run away."

[Mrs. Barrow]

"After all this time, they ask us to leave,
And I told them we could pay double the rent.
I don't know why it seemed so funny,
Seeing as how they'd take more money.
The winkler called again, he came here this morning,
With four hundred pounds and a photograph of the place he has found.
A block of flats with central heating.
I think we're going to find it hard."

[Mr. Pebble]

"Now we've got them!
I've always said that cash cash cash can do anything well.
Work can be rewarding
When a flash of intuition is a gift that helps you
excel-sell-sell-sell."

[Mr. Hall]

"Here we are in Harlow New Town, did you recognise your block
across the square, over there,
Sadly since last time we spoke, we've found we've had to raise
the rent again,
just a bit."

[Mrs. Barrow]

"Oh no, this I can't believe
Oh Mary, and we agreed to leave."

(a passage of time)

[18/9/2012 T.V. Flash on all Dial-A-Program Services]

This is an announcement from Genetic Control:
"It is my sad duty to inform you of a four foot restriction on
humanoid height."

[Extract from coversation of Joe Ordinary in Local Puborama]

"I hear the directors of Genetic Control have been buying all the
properties that have recently been sold, taking risks oh so bold.
It's said now that people will be shorter in height,
they can fit twice as many in the same building site.
(they say it's alright),
Beginning with the tenants of the town of Harlow,
in the interest of humanity, they've been told they must go,
told they must go-go-go-go."

[Sir John De Pebble of United Blacksprings International]

"I think I've fixed a new deal
A dozen properties - we'll buy at five and sell at thirty four,
Some are still inhabited,
It's time to send the winkler to see them,
he'll have to work some more."

Pérola Negra - Luis Melodia

Tente passar pelo que estou passando
Tente apagar este teu novo engano
Tente me amar pois estou de amando
Baby, te amo, bem sei que te amo

Tente usar a roupa que eu estou usando
Tente esquecer eme que ano estamos
Arranje algum sangue, escreva num pano
Pérola Negra, te amo, te amo

Rasgue a camisa, enxugue meu pranto

Esopo e a Língua

Perguntou o amo surpreso.

Acaso podeis negar essas verdades, meu amo?

- Boa, meu caro, retrucou o amigo do amo.

canção do exílio - Dantas Mota

Alma,
Pássaro solitário,
Como é difícil abranger-te!
Nem sei como defender-te,
Incomensurável que és.
Num só crepúsculo,
Passeias todas as paisagens,
Visitas todas as terras,
E te recolhes triste
À morada que te serve
De cárcere...

as time goes by

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.

And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you."
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by.

Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date.
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate.
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny.

It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

it is a beautiful day, indeed

The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town

You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere

You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace

It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination

You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you

It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out

It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day

My love'd know...

How Deep is The Ocean?

How can I tell you what is in my heart?
How can I measure each and every part?
How can I tell you how much I love you?
How can I measure just how much I do?

How much do I love you?
I'll tell you no lie
How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?

How many times a day do I think of you?
How many roses are sprinkled with dew?

How far would I travel
To be where you are?
How far is the journey
From here to a star?

And if I ever lost you
How much would I cry?
How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?

O asfalto, a ponte, o viaduto ganindo pra lua
Nada continua
Cuspo chicletes do ódio no esgoto exposto do Leblon

Let's Get Lost - Lyrics

Let’s get lost, lost in each other’s arms
Let’s get lost, let them send out alarms
And though they’ll think us rather rude
Let’s tell the world we’re in that crazy mood.
Let’s defrost in a romantic mist
Let’s get crossed off everybody’s list
To celebrate this night we found each other, mmm, let’s get lost

[horn solo] [piano solo]

Let’s defrost in a romantic mist
Let’s get crossed off everybody’s list
To celebrate this night we found each other, mm, let’s get lost
oh oh, let’s get lost

how can you mend a broken heart

Bee Gees

I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do.
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow.

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.

I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees
And misty memories of days gone by
We could never see tomorrow, noone said a word about the sorrow.

And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.
